HolyCrab
The end of VFFS. Go horizontal!
HolyCrab is a Horizontal Fill Seal (HFS) machine, developed for producers who want to move beyond traditional Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) technology. By combining a horizontal technique with premade Easy Open bags and a rotating bag magazine, HolyCrab delivers a highly reliable, cost-efficient and product-friendly packaging solution.
A smart drop-break system minimizes the drop height, resulting in significantly less product damage, a more stable filling process and consistent pack quality. Combined with thin HDPE bags, a compact machine layout, 24/7 non-stop production and a high-speed performance of up to 20 bags per minute, HolyCrab ensures the lowest total cost of ownership.
Horizontal Fill Sealing
Features
24/7 non-stop production
The rotating bag magazine allows bag refilling during operation, enabling continuous production without stops, a key advantage over many VFFS systems.
Horizontal system which reduces drop height
The horizontally oriented system reduces drop height and virtually eliminates product damage.
Lowest material and operational costs
By using premade HDPE bags from 15 μm instead of thick LDPE roll film, the HolyCrab significantly reduces film usage, waste and operational costs compared to VFFS machines.

5 steps
How it works
Bag picking
The premade EasyOpen bag is picked up by a vacuum gripper at one side.
Bag spreading
The system picks up the opened bag and guides it into the next position.
Bag positioning
The bag is transferred to the filling position, where it is filled with your product.
Product filling
Product is gently filled into the bag using a smart drop-break system, minimizing drop height and preserving product integrity.
Bag sealing
Two sealing bars press together at the right temperature and timing, creating a perfect seal within seconds.

• Bag size: 580 / 240 x 890 mm
• Weight per 1,000 bags: 27.17 kg
• Total weight (3,100,000 pieces): 84,227 kg
• Bags per pallet: 19,000 pieces
• Total pallets: 168

VFFS – LDPE 40 µm
• Bag size: 400 x 380 mm
• Weight per 1,000 bags: 11.19 kg
• Total weight (18,600,000 pieces): 208,082 kg
• Bags per pallet: approx. 35,000 pieces
• Total pallets: 465
The potential saving on raw material alone is approximately 125,000 kg per packaging line. But furthermore, there is also the savings in transport, pallet movements and storage costs.
