3 steps
How it works
Product infeed
After adjusting to the right requirements, the first products enter the Quality Checker. Because of the multiple channels it is possible to check two products at once, for example baguettes and Kaiser rolls.
Check requirements
Colour cameras check the set of quality requirements. The camera system is able to check dimensions (length, width, height and roundness - accuracy 2 mm), browning (over and under baked products) and black spots.
Reject products
The Quality Checker rejects disapproved products. The reject system contains tracks which are equipped with a retractable conveyor. When a product is disapproved, the conveyor will retract and a gap occurs. Due to the two tracks, the unjust reject of approved products is minimalized.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each product passes underneath two 3D sensors that create a detailed profile of the product. The software measures dimensions, shape characteristics and product-specific quality parameters in real time. Products that fall outside the configured limits are automatically removed from the production flow before reaching the packaging machine.
The Quality Checker is suitable for frozen dough products, frozen pre-baked products and non-frozen pre-baked bakery products. Typical applications include baguettes, bread rolls, breadsticks, croissants, bagels and similar bakery items.
Yes. For stick-shaped products such as baguettes and breadsticks, the Quality Checker offers a linearity check. This function measures overall straightness and local deviations along the product. Products that exceed the configured curvature limits can be automatically rejected.
Yes. The Quality Checker identifies products that are physically connected or positioned too closely together. It analyses connected surface areas and contact lengths to determine whether products should be rejected before reaching the packaging machine.
Depending on the application, the Quality Checker can inspect product length, width, height, shape, straightness, holes, connected products, crumbs and double products. All inspection limits are configurable for each bakery product type.
Yes. Products that do not meet the configured quality criteria are automatically removed from the production flow. An integrated reject system separates rejected products before they reach the packaging machine. Depending on the line layout, rejected products are discharged via a cross conveyor or hopper.
The Quality Checker supports products with lengths from 30 to 600 mm and heights up to 160 mm. The maximum product width depends on the conveyor lane width, while the minimum width is 30 mm.
A minimum gap of 30 mm must be maintained between products. This spacing allows the cameras to accurately identify and measure each product individually.
Products should enter the inspection area in a stable position with their long side leading. They should not overlap or move while passing underneath the cameras, ensuring accurate and repeatable measurements.
A minimum of one metre of straight conveyor is required before the inspection zone. This ensures that products remain stable while passing underneath the cameras. Curved, inclined or declined conveyors should not be positioned directly before the machine.
Yes. A metal detector can be installed directly before the Quality Checker. The flat conveyor surface helps stabilise products before inspection and does not interfere with measurement accuracy.
Yes. The Quality Checker is fully configurable for different bakery product types. Inspection parameters such as dimensions, straightness, hole detection and reject limits can be adjusted to match the quality requirements of each specific bakery product.
