VarioFold: Fully automatic bag folding
The VarioFold automates the process of closing bags by folding them inside boxes or crates. Often following a CombiPlast or EasyPlast bag inserter, the VarioFold helps manufacturers increase productivity, reduce manual labour and improve packaging consistency.
Designed for continuous production, the machine automatically folds liners accurately, supports random box sizes and can be equipped with integrated checkweighing, reject handling and a box closer. Whether used as a stand-alone machine or integrated into an existing packaging line, the VarioFold delivers a consistent packaging result and ensures every package leaves the line ready for transport.

How it works
Box positioning
At the infeed of the VarioFold the box (or your product carrier) is centered to ensure its position. Optionally the weight of the box is checked in this step. Rejected boxes are ejected onto an error conveyor.
Box lifting
The box is lifted towards the folding unit. Here two vacuum cups pick up the bag on the short sides of the box.
Bag folding
The box is now moved downwards to release the bag from the box flaps. Two spreading fingers are placed in the bag and the bag is spread. The two folding bars ensure that the bag is folded inwards over the long side. The short sides of the bag will be folded while the box flaps are folded inwards for box closing.
Optionally: box closing
Optionally the box is closed by the integrated taper. The result: your product safely packed in a closed bag and closed box! Ready to be transported to your customers.
