Case erecting and bag insertion for FEFCO 0216 boxes
Not every box is the same, and the FEFCO 0216 design proves it. This special carton required a smarter approach. That’s why our automated packaging solution starts with a robot that picks up the cases and erects them upside down. Why? Because it guarantees a strong, reliable bottom closure, the foundation of secure packaging.
The overhead erection method is key for this type of box. Since the boxes are reused by the customer, there’s a risk of the inner flaps falling inward, which would block bag insertion. By placing the case upside down on a stabilizing “spike,” the flaps are held outward, keeping a clear path for bag insertion. Outward-flap positioning can also be offered as an additional option for maximum flexibility.
Once the case is perfectly formed, it’s flipped into the correct position. Ready for the EasyPlast, a high-performance bag-in-box machine that automatically places the bag into the box. Smart, efficient and able to handle all kinds of box requirements, including the FEFCO 0216.
